Robin Deighan
Operations Manager

Robin joined ABT Custom Homes in February of 2005. She came with a background in accounting and had previously serviced clients in custom residential construction. Robin assumed many of the administrative functions previously handled by Chip freeing him up to spend additional time in the field servicing clients and supervising the superintendents. Robin has redesigned processes to allow for additional accountability with the tracking of project time and resource budgets. Robin makes sure that office and field staff are coordinated with each other in order to provide the best possible build experience and the best value to our customers.

Jeff Plank

Jeff has been on the ABT Custom Homes staff since November 2003.  He brought a wealth of knowledge to the company with his extensive history of being involved in the building trades since 1976.  This history includes 9 years as a sole proprietor as a home builder and remodeler.  Jeff has been an enthusiastic and detail oriented supervisor.  His dedicated work has produced not only beautiful quality built homes but also extremely satisfied homeowners.  Jeff supervises home construction in Smithfield, Carrollton and Suffolk including neighborhoods such as Cypress Creek, Founder’s Pointe and The Riverfront.

Mark Wade
Superintendent

Mark joined the ABT Custom Homes team in July of 2005. Mark brought to Area Builders 37 years of experience as a framer including 26 years running his own residential framing business. His experience also included commercial framing projects. He came aboard offering a wealth of knowledge. His insightful assistance has helped our other superintendents to become better equipped to deal with challenging framing situations in the field. Mark’s expertise has been tested in his work in East Beach in Norfolk where very strict historically correct architectural guidelines are followed. Mark also lends his experience to projects in Culpepper Landing in Chesapeake and consulted on the Ashville Park homes.

Kathryn Wright
Estimating/Procurement
In June of 2006 ABT Custom Homes was lucky to add Kathryn to our team.  Kathryn came to Area Builders with experience in home exterior sales.  She had knowledge that easily translated into our newly formed position of Estimator/Procurer.   It seemed a natural transition for her as her father has been in construction estimating for decades.  Kathryn developed the position by creating procedures and methods for streamlining the process of product and subcontractor selection and acquisition.  She also works closely with Chip helping to provide accurate and competitively priced construction quotes.   Throughout the building process Kathryn is available to lead clients through the decision making process aiding in keeping the completion of the home on schedule.

Toni Jurko
Office Administrator
Toni joined ABT Custom Homes in December of 2005.  She brings over 15 years of management experience in administration to our company.  Toni heads up our warranty department and works closely with Chip and the superintendents to make sure all issues are dealt with promptly and to our customer’s satisfaction.  She presides over all company accounts payable and provides support to office and field staff.  Toni also maintains all safety documentation and training and all necessary insurance paperwork from the subcontractors.
